Evolution of Technology in Rural India

Since independence, India has gone through a lot of different phases. Gradually, it has taken control over all its problems and now India is going through its technology development stage in full swing. India is a country of diversified nature with 3/4th of the population living in villages. Technology has always played a very serious role in development of India. Rural India has always been the pick for the evolution / development of technology. The base point of the evolution of technology is its affordability. Every technology evolution is backed by economical solution. Introduction of mobile phones has been one of the major events in the field of technology evolution in India. It is now the most inevitable / essential item in every human being life.

The evolution of mobile phones has been tremendous in the rural India. It is infact one of the best ever emerging industry in India since Independence. In a statement made by CEO Data wind, Sh. Suneet Singh Tuli, over 600 millions mobile phones were introduced in rural India in just a time span of 10 years when compared to introduction of 30 millions fixed landline telephones over 100 years. Internet has also been one of the picks of the technology evolution and based on the popularity of internet, it will be ideal to think about introduction of Internet computers in rural India in a similar ratio.

Going through the history of the cell phone industry, it has emerged that the growth of cell phone in India has paved way to a healthier Indian economy. The demand of mobile phone has seen a tremendous increase which has created havoc in this field and still the demand is increasing. The competition between various service providers has also seen new heights. The base for this enormous increase in demand of cell phone is the increase in economical and financial position of the Indians. Now an average Indian earns a handful salary when compared to other developing countries and the social and economic conditions of Indians have seen a steep rise. The numbers of customers is increasing at an alarming speed.

In the rural India, the whole cell phone industry has concentrated on the youth. Now the cell phones are the salvation for the youth in India. Youth has greeted this as a fashion symbol. The desire and likings of the youth are very high and the industry has also action according to it. Not only the youth, infact the whole humanity has taken this technology evolution on their heels and made it a great technological invention of the generation.
